You’re saying that Ron Paul’s candidacy has caused the price of Gold to go up 40 percent in dollar terms?

Totally stupid, a conspiracy theory to rival the Truthers.

This is a cheap shot, I think.

Ron Paul has been promoting gold as a stable store of value and has urged a return to some form of gold standard for ages.

He and Lew Lehrman wrote "The Case for Gold" over 25 years ago.

It's no surprise that he should own gold stocks, a proxy for bullion, and I'd be more surprised if he didn't

I'm no water carrier for Ron Paul. He's as crazy as the day is long. But he's no hypocrite and I think this piece is a rather low blow.

What a load of bovine excrement.

This writer is a nobody writing for a “vanity” website.

He picked this outlandish conspiracy to write about because he knows any story about Ron Paul will produce traffic.

This is how it works.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/gettingstarted.html

The GOP will deserve what is coming down the pike at them in 08. Get used to the political wasteland Republicans...perhaps for a couple of decades. Conservatives who support Ron Paul will remember the treatment he has received in this election and it will be a cold day in hell before they cast a vote for the party which has trashed a 20 year conservative Republicans name and reputation to get another GOP neo-conservative elected.

Start thinking in terms of “minority party” and watch how much of the leftist agenda the democrats can pass with a unified Executive and Legislative majority.

The gold standard was a valuable tool for many centuries.

It would be utterly insane to try to return to it.

Inflation or deflation is caused by the amount of money expanding at a greater or lesser rate than the amount of goods and services.

If gold “was” money, the expansion of the currency would be determined simply by how much was dug out of the ground. Not enough and we get deflation. Too much and we get inflation.

Plus, what are the chances that someone would come up with an inexpensive way to extract gold from seawater or transmute lead into gold? With today’s tech, not impossible. All of a sudden the amount of gold increases exponentially, as does inflation.

Having the world’s central banks control the amount of money has its problems, but nothing compared to the randomness of having it controlled by miners or inventors.

Could the death of Honor Blackman, last year, been a cover up?

We need a special prosecutor to get the facts on the death of Pussy Galore.

No.

Wrong Paul is the result of pulling my finger.

LOL! I had to check to see if this was satire. I think the author is actually serious (although being a vanity on a do-it-yourself website, this thread probably belongs in Bloggers and Personal).

Yes, pay no interest to plummeting interest rates, massive federal deficits, or our shrinking and uncompetitive export base. Our dollar is falling because the Ron Paul campaign wants gold to be worth more in dollar terms. Hehe!

What an insipid 'article.'

The author is an idiot.

Ron Paul is not manipulating the downward spiral of the dollar, the FED is, via printing truckloads of currency and attempting to prop up failing financial institutions.

Why are they failing? one word: GREED

Greed of the average Joe who pulled multi-thousands of 'equity' out of his house and bought toys with it, instead of being responsible. Who then did a 'refi' to do it all again 2 years later. Now his 250K house is floating a 375K loan and the market tanked. So what does Joe do? He walks away with $125K worth of crap he didn't pay for and the bank has a house that is still worth 240K.

The banks were greedy too of course, lending money to loser they knew couldn't pay long term. But they still slammed them into ARMs and other flaky instruments and let them pay for 5 years before losing their homes.

To try to blame the current situstion on someone who advocates commodities as a way to protect the value of one's labors is ridiculous.

Ron Paul, himself, is as surprised as anyone by the breadth of support that he has garnered. From Anarchists to anti-Zionists, Ron Paul attracts them all.

WHOO HOO, that's something to be proud of huh? :D

Mr. Paul knows that this is no winning coalition, and will never lead to the White House. And even if it did, the chances of achieving such a radical move are next to none.

OHHHHHHH, if only his SUPPORTERS would realize that? Seems like he's running a big SUCKER campgain. By still running, and taking PEOPLE'S MONEY, but YET, knowing his chances are "next to none", what else could it BE, BUT a SCAM?

LOL, please, please, let's let this be the last Paul thread on FR. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Reality is calling, but Paul's supporter's aren't picking up the phone!

It's right there in black and white from the same article that started the thread!!!!!!!! Ron Paul KNOWS he can't win!!!!!!

So why are we wasting time paying him any attention?
