DENVER (CBS4) ― President Bush heard a request to release a man in a Colorado prison during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
Homaidan Al-Turki is behind bars awaiting the outcome of an appeal. A court convicted him in 2006 of sexually assaulting and enslaving his Indonesian maid in his Aurora home.

“I am a Saudi,” Al-Turki said. “I am a Muslim and I think that’s an attraction to law enforcement itself.”

Arapahoe District Attorney Carol Chambers told CBS4 Al-Turki was convicted by a jury of citizens from Arapahoe County and does not believe he should be pardoned.
Critical facts tell the story. At least the reporter bothered to give it to us.

Man I’m telling you, if this turd gets pardoned by Bush as a favor to the Saudis, you may as well just contaminate the Bush presidential library with radioactive Cesium. Why? So no one will go there and we can forget about this third-trimester abortion of a president. I lost so much respect for him, watching him fumble around under the robes of the Saudi king, trying to find which cheek to give a big wet sloppy kiss to. If this blatantly transparent ploy works, his final legacy - fighting for freedom and democracy - will be absolutely obliterated and I’ll just become a Democrat. When they take your freedoms, you might at least get a meal or two out of it.
Pardoning this "slave keeping" Saudi will send a good-will message to the Saudi government... While keeping the BP agents in prison, even during their appeal process, sends an even more important message to the rest of the BP and ICE agents, not to enforce the immigration laws too seriously.

If the guy was convicted on State charges, then Bush has no jurisdictional authority to pardon him. Bush can pardon people in federal prison on federal charges. The Governor of Colorado is the guy to go to for a pardon on a Colorado charge
You think his fellow inmates would care what he did with an Indonesian woman? Or would they fantasize about being in the position to have their own female slaves?
Just what I was thinking. All Bush can do is promise to speak to the Governor about it.
