Apparently Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama understand the concept of mutual assured destruction at least when it comes to their own political hides. That long-obsolete concept is no longer useful in achieving nuclear deterrence, but it may have just deterred an infantile game of political one-upmanship an infantile game Obama was winning.
Democrats to the core, Clinton and Obama have agreed to back away (at least for the moment) on the use of race-mongering, and to give each other license to blame their staffs and over-exuberant supporters.

Politically, and regardless that neither one of them will relish the arrangement, the Hildabeast will have no choice but to ask Obama to be her VP if she gets the nod, and he will have no choice but to say "yes" ("my country calls," "we want to put political differences behind us," blah blah blah).
So not only will the Klintoon era not end, the Obama era will concurrently begin.
If Hildy is defeated now, her and the Sinkmeister lose most of their power, even if they are not kicked off the national stage completely.
Even if Obama were then to win the general, at least we would be rid of the pernicious Klintoons and, two, on his own, Obama might be stopped in terms of creating for the Rats a long-term hold on power.
IMHO, the worst scenario for the country is a Hildy/Obama ticket, but I see it coming.
I agree...She let Obama keep on running because he can raise a lot of money....In this game, winner takes all. She never “dreamed” he’d get money and HER votes, too.
Boy, won’t he be surprised when she does it again. Like most self-absorbed personalities, she will see that she can “get away with it”, and will repeat her performance. Maybe not this week, but soon, when things get tight again.
Possibly, but if Obama played his cards right, even if Hillary were elected and we know she would be an absolute disaster as President, Obama might be poised to challenge her when she tried to run for a second term. If she's a disaster and he's her VP, he might go down with the ship and ruin his chances for the future.
I agree. I've been predicting Hill-Hussein '08 for quite some time.
The way they have treated each other with kid gloves, even after Obama's win, was proof enough.
(Hillary still is way ahead in delegate count because of the committed "superdelegates.")
Obama backed down first. He was probably afraid of the Clinton Machine.
