Huckabee links gay sex to bestiality, abortion to slavery

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Republican presidential hopeful and former Baptist pastor Mike Huckabee linked gay sex to bestiality and abortion to slavery in an interview Thursday, explaining why, if elected, he would try to amend the constitution.

"Marriage has ... as long as there's been human history, meant a man and a woman in a relationship for life. Once we change that definition, then where does it go from there?" he asked in an interview with online "Beliefnet" magazine.

"Well, I don't think that's a radical view, to say we're going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal," he added.

"The Bible was not written to be amended. The Constitution was," he said, announcing his intention to amend the document if he were to be elected president in November to ban abortion and establish that life begins at the moment of conception.

Leaving it up to individual states to outlaw abortion within their own borders is not enough, he said.

"That's again the logic of the Civil War -- that slavery could be okay in Georgia but not okay in Massachusetts. Obviously we'd today say, 'Well, that's nonsense. Slavery is wrong, period. It can't be right somewhere and wrong somewhere else.' Same with abortion," Huckabee said.

Huckabee won the Iowa Republican caucuses earlier this month, the first contest in the race for each party's nomination to run for the White House. He is in second place behind Arizona Senator John McCain in opinion polls for Saturday's primaries in South Carolina.

Anyone who does NOT believe that the MSM/DNC wants Mike Huckabee to win the Republican nomination, so that they can utterly destroy him in the general, is deluding themselves.

Huckabee is a lying fraud, but the talk he talks is good.

NPR, Time, and usatoday have all started pushing Romney recently. That is the core of the liberal media.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-01-16-romney-sc_N.htm

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1703575-2,00.html

and here’s why:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/election_2008_romney_vs_clinton_and_obama

Forty-seven percent (47%) say they will vote against Romney— as high as Hidlebeast.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/for_or_against_presidential_candidates

Romney does especially bad in upper mid west Iowa, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Indiana, etc.

In a political campaign, it is much easier to add to positives then it is to subtract negatives.

Marriage has ... as long as there's been human history, meant a man and a woman in a relationship for life.

So I assume that Huck will soon be advocating a Constitutional amendment banning divorce?

It is interesting that the article does not include the actual supporting Huckabee quote which supports the article title. Google news is most likely run out of somewhere near San Jose (close to San Francisco).

I'm no Huckabee fan, but this Borowitz guy is not funny at all. I didn't chuckle once while reading it. He better not quit his day job, comedy satire is not his bag. At least Ann Coulter knows how to do satire.

I wonder how many people who are voting for Huckabee because they want these amendments realize that the President has no authority, none whatsoever, to amend the Constitution. The chief executive isn’t even mentioned in Article Five.

Huckabee never points out that he’s promising things he can’t deliver, either. He’s perfectly content to let people conitnue in their ignorance as long as it gets him votes.

And in that he differs from the other candidates how?

Here is the actual Huckabee quote which the article purposefully does not contain:

Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.

Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic.

The article purposefully takes the quote out of context.

Yeah, no where does Huck actually say the word “Bestiality”. But regardless, this would make me want to vote for Huck even more (I will vote for Thomson). Anything that riles and enrages the sodomites is a good thing. I hope Huck sends them all to Iran as a gift from the United States.

Yes, it is refreshing to hear some true social conservative points in an increasingly depraved world.

Huckabee won’t win the nomination, but I do hope he stops McInsane in South Carolina. If he does that, I will be forever grateful.

Both direct quotes are there.

"Well, I don't think that's a radical view, to say we're going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal," he added.

He’s basing his entire campaign on being the “pure” social conservative candidate, better than the other social conservative candidates because he’s promising amendments while they’re only promising strict constructionist judges. Presidents have the authority to appoint strict constructionist judges. They have no authority, in fact, no role at all, in amending the Constitution. In that, Huckabee is preying upon voters’ ignorance. And no, not all candidates are promising Constitutional amendments. Thompson, for one, is not promising amendments he knows he can’t deliver, and is being vilified for it.

Right now, the Evangelical Base is “fired-up” for Huckabee while 80% of America wouldn’t know who he is if you stood outside Wal-Mart and took a survey.

If he ever got into the General Election, when people start paying attention, he’d be toast.

How many Freepers do you ever see on this website defending this guy? But then, our man Fred isn’t doing too hot. So, it makes you wonder how many true Conservatives, who aren’t straight out of the looney bin, there are left in the world.

Reagan never lied through his teeth ... just to get votes.

The Huckster should be absolutely ashamed of himself for saying that he wants to amend the Consitution to prohibit abortion.
