“By the time agreement on action was reached, they will be dead”
- Yes and all that is needed in order to accomplish such an agreement is 400 consecutive EU summits :)
The EU is a ‘potential’ super power that presently is failing to take its full global responsibility as such a power.
Furthermore, many Europeans are very isolationist, even more isolationist than the US was prior to Pearl Harbor.
Despite what happened in Madrid and London and despite the fact that a lot of sons and daughters of my continent are participating in the WOT at a close range, most Europeans view the WOT as a conflict between USA and some lunatics hiding in caves.
As Europeans, the least thing we could do is to care just a little bit more than so about people who actually risk their own lives on a daily basis.
Still, nurturing hope for Europe is not in vain.
For generations, we Europeans have endured downright hell and maybe that’s why we don’t bother too much about present tragedies that actually ought to concern us more.
Just like we, as individuals, are stronger than we think ourselves and other people view us to be, continents of millions might just be stronger than what we sometimes believe.
After all, Europe survived WWII like my Viking ancestors survived catching a cold.
Triumph in the WOT and a new renaissance of Western Civilization?
- Let’s do it.
