And if Huckabee has not been in the race, the SC outcome may have been different...

So this is where all the nonsense about Fred being a stalking horse for McCain has come from!
Dirty politicking by the Huckster camp continues!

And, if the conservative media hadn’t singled out Huckabee fpr attack, the result would have been different and we wouldn’t be stuck with the two most unacceptable candidates imaginable — McCain and Willard.

Fred hurt us in South Carolina," Beasley began. "He had one goal and one goal only -- to distort Mike Huckabee's
record so John McCain could pull it out. No ifs, ands or buts about it...

After Huckabee's gracious concession speech -- in which he had nothing but kind words for John McCain who he said showed great "civility" -- former SC Gov. David Beasley, a Huckabee surrogate, railed against Thompson.
Rail away, Weasley. I'm still with Fred.

Yeah, if Fred hadn’t done that massive push-polling and blanketed the state with fliers lying about . . ., oh, wait, wasn’t it Huckabee’s campaign who did all that to Fred? Actually, it could have been a backlash by decent people against the massive hypocrisy and deceit of the Huckabee campaign that cost him the victory.

Clinton was absolutely wrong in his “Fairy Tale” comment. The REAL Fairy Tale is that Huck can actually win let alone be even competitive in a General Election. If he does win the nomination he will be the Republican equivalent of George McGovern. IMHO of course.

Pardon, but is that a whine? Everybody had a right to campaign. I could wish some did not, but they had a right. And it isn't as if the Huck camp didn't play dirty with push polling and flyers. The Huckleberry, like his namesake, is seasonal and he is out of season this time of year. Also like his namesake, the little blue fruit, he will soon be a seasonal memory.

I’m sincerely pleased that Fred was able to do some political damage to Mike. But the person who deserves to be outraged is Fred. In truth, if Huckabee had not played innocent while his minions placed thousands of deceitful push poll calls aimed at Fred, "the outcome may have been different" and much better for Fred Thompson.

I don’t know if I like Huckabee yet or not but PLEASE why is Thompson trying to stick us with McCain. McCain worked with KENNEDY to foist the 120 million plus illegals on our country. How fast Republican voters forget. When I look at McCain all I can think of is Bob Dole and disaster.

More of the same. The Huckster is playing the same tired victim card. Hypocriticaly this time given that Fred challenged him on the issues and the Huckster responded with push-polling and smears without addressing the issues raised.
