Know what I would like to have happen?
Give people a choice to either select to stay in the present tax system, or, select to pay under the fair tax system. At the cash register you could have a tax number, much like the farmers do now, and then give them your tax number and those that do pay under a fair tax system. If you select to stay under the marxist system like a lot of these so called “Conservatives” on here do, then, you do not get a tax number and you pay under the present system.
I wonder how long before they’d start whinning that we who pay under the fair tax system dont pay our fair share. You see..thay actually are rinos and are not freemen.
That will just keep the size of government growing as we would have more red tape. You have to remember that there is a fair size of this population who not only pay no federal taxes but actually get money for nothing. Where do you think they will prefer to stay? I want to see every person living in America pay their fair share.
LOL! No free man pays 30% in taxes.
Put the government back in its Constitutional bounds, get off the bloody teat and save a bundle, however it is collected.
Of course, that means that the private sector would have to do a lot they have sloughed onto the government, but that would be done cheaper and more efficiently than the government would anyway.
The only part of this proposal that will survive will be the monthly check.
Your suggestion is unworkable as trying to have one communist system (fair tax) overlay with the capitalist system.
The IRS must go, but the Fairscammers are so delusionally invested in this specific proposal that they can not see of some OTHER way to achieve all our mutual goals.
Your suggestion would cause so many headaches for retailers it’s incredible. Do you know the type of paperwork one needs to fill out to purchase something tax free? It literally takes an extra 5-10 minutes of an employee’s time to fill out these forms. Your solution would add to the retailers cost and drive inflation even further (they would probably have to hire extra cashiers just to deal with the paperwork for those who would opt out...).
If you then say that they could computerize the systems — do you have any idea how much money it would then cost the retailers to implement these changes?
I’m not afraid of progress, or change if it’s a GOOD idea... But, this I’m afraid is definitely NOT a good idea.
