I used to have friends who lived in Long Beach in the 70s. Back then there were many areas which were fine to live in, but were starting to turn. I recall one girl’s moving because they found a dead body in a dumpster behind her apartment.
I thank my lucky stars I was able to move out of CA when I did and back to the relative safety of the Midwest.
I grew up in inner-city Milwaukee. It’s worse than one can possibly imagine today. Our old German, working class neighborhood is now Gangland territory.
