It would lessen my opinion of Thompson. McCain is so far off track Iconservatively (campaign finance, immigration, taxes, etc.), that I would rather see Thompson with Romney than McCain.

However, if it came down to McCain vs. Hillary or Obamaa, or Edwards...I would hold my nose and vote for McCain. I hope it does not come to that. In that case, Thompson would improve the ticket.

I hope Thompson somehow catches fire and starts moving up more and more in polls and in primaries (like with Florida hopefully)> That would be my druthers.

“It would lessen my opinion of Thompson.”

I don’t see how that wouldn’t be the near-universal opinion of conservatives.

Unless Fred catches fire soon, it looks like its down to McCain and Romney (I don't think Huckabee is going anywhere).

I don't care for either Mitt or McCain (and I live in Arizona!). I do know that McCain and Fred are friends. My feelings are that McCain may take Thompson on as VP in order to throw a bone to the Conservatives.

My worst fear is that if McCain wins, he'll choose Lindsey Graham as his VP. :0(
