Chuck Norris thinks McCain too old to be president

Campaigning for Mike Huckabee, actor Chuck Norris said Sunday that Sen. John McCain is too old to handle the pressures of being president.

"I didn't pick John to support because I'm just afraid that the vice president would wind up taking over his job in that four-year presidency," said Norris, who was hosting a fundraiser for Huckabee at his Lone Wolf Ranch.

"So we need to find someone that can handle it for four years or eight years ... that has the youth and vision and communication skills to make that work." Norris, 67, is four years younger than McCain, who will be 72 in August.

Norris estimated that more than 200 people had paid at least $1,000 for a plate of barbecue and a chance to watch Huckabee play bass guitar with his band, Capitol Offense. Some paid $2,300, but fundraising totals were not yet available.

I don't know why anyone would pay to see Huckabee play his guitar, it seems to be attached to him, and he plays it at every campaign stop, instead of talking about the issues like an adult.

After repeating his stump speech to the rural Texas crowd, the band joined Huckabee on stage for some classic rock tunes, kicking off with "Only in America."

Yes only in America would a candidate for the United States of America, think his lackluster guitar talent will get him to the White House.

I loathe the Huckster but he did play it at some FR shindig a couple years ago and was the hero of FR for a while because of it.

What a blunder, just in time for the primary in ‘God’s waiting room’. Senior voters will love to hear this.

Norris, 67, is four years younger than McCain, who will be 72 in August.

But Norris isn't running for president.

Right, I think McCain may be too old but alas this will let him use the Reagan line about not making an issue of his opponents youth and inexperience.

I actually agree with Churck Norris, on McCain being too old, I have parents in their 70’s, and there is a lot of forgetting, doctor visits, and senior moments, that might not serve the country well in the Oval Office.

John McCain’s wife just had some kind of joint replacement ..just about seven weeks ago, and she is so frail, I actually feel sorry for her out on the campaign trail. I don’t think McCain has accepted the fact he is not going to be any better in time.
