This is a link to a New Zealand newspaper article about the funeral.

As Sir Ed was not a Maori, he is of course not having a traditional Maori funeral, and also no tangi. However Maori were present at the start of the service to perform a traditional haka/karanga as a way of showing their respect for the mountaineeer as his casket was bought into the cathedral.

There will be another service tomorrow, Tuesday.
