The whole “does this outfit make me look fat” may be entirely based on an honest dialogue but all too often it is based in a valid female fear that the woman’s primary attractiveness to a man is not her mind and character—but instead the outside.

Mr. Jeeves is absolutely correct in his post #22.

I tried to make that point. It really is not so much how the woman looks outwardly, but it has importance.

However, if she is a whining, nagging, fish-wife inwardly, all her outward looks won't last long. It will make sex unbearable and the man will start looking elsewhere, even the gal with the fat-a$$ that smiles when he talks.

Women tend to not realize that, as long as she's enjoyable company and has a reasonably high libido, she doesn't need to be a supermodel to hold our attention. Television and movies feed this insecurity.

I agree with you. We women are under constant pressure to be thin, young, busty and beautiful. We're made to feel worthless if we're not. All men have to do in reply to the "does this make me look fat" questions are reassure their wives that they find them beautiful. Is that so difficult?
