“Abbas is trapped”
He has always been useless - being in the minority and not able to run anything yet, Rice and Bush have given him millions of our tax dollars.
Why is this? What is their motive? Neither could be so stupid as to think that the "Palestinians" will come to some sort of permanent peace agreement with Israel on terms acceptable to both. So what? Maybe this article hints at it? Rice and Bush obviously see it as in our interest or theirs to continue the charade. But the Saudis don't. Or maybe they do, but they just want to be seen as not doing; and they have the Bush/Rice team doing their bidding? And Bush and Rich see this as in our interest; or theirs.
