It doesn't. We should all go out and affirmatively vote for Hillary or Obama. At least if the Democrat socialist won, we have the hope of getting a conservative in office in four years. Moreover, a Democrat socialist is more likely to experience gridlock in getting his proposals enacted (compare Clinton vs. Bush).
Our republic has survived Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and LBJ. However, our republic cannot survive with two socialist parties. The slow sinking into socialism for our country is now a given. We need to fight our party now to get a seat at the table. I'm sorry, but we cannot do that if our party is successful with another candidate for President who does not espouse the limited government ideals and social conservatism of Reagan.
