No, he appointed some dumb liberal judges while he was governer. His history with judicial appointments does not bode well for somebody who is supposed to pick the next SCOTUS seat to become vacant. And social conservatives are all about the judges....

My point being, of course, that there is always a disappointment in the bunch when someone makes a lot of appointments.

Look at Ronald Reagan's appointment of Sandra Day O'Connor.

Nope. She sided with the liberals to enact some of the worst decisions of the last half of the 20th century.
