Wilders: Cabinet Fears Prove Islam's Intolerance
NIS News ^ | January 23 2008

THE HAGUE, 24/01/08 - In an open letter in newspaper De Volkskrant yesterday, Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders criticised the commotion over his Koran film. With their panicky reactions, politicians and authorities are proving that Islam is an intolerant ideology, in his view.

Wilders uses half of his letter to sketch a contrast between Islam and Christianity. "Imagine that it became known that I was going to make a film to demonstrate the Fascist character of the Bible. Say that I had urged in a letter a few months earlier that the Bible should be banned. Would Premier Balkenende then have spoken of a serious crisis with international effects? Would there have been a special meeting of ministers? Would the chief editors in public broadcasting have conferred about how to deal with the film?" "Of course not."

Wilders summarises a further catalogue of things that would "of course not" have happened if he had criticised the Bible. "But now that my film is not about the Bible but about the Koran, government, media, Muslims and others have been in a state of hysterical panic for weeks." There are two explanations for this, according to Wilders.

"Firstly, Islam is an intolerant ideology, within which there is no room for matters like self-reflection and self-criticism. Nor does there appear to be any room for individual responsibility and self-control. Secondly, there is a question of fear. The emergency scenarios (of authorities) illustrate the state of panic within the Dutch government at the moment." "It is not the cabinet but the fear of Islam that governs the Netherlands."

"The fact that a not yet shown film of about 10 minutes could according to some lead to economic boycotts, riots and other horrible things says everything about the nature of Islam. Nothing about me. The cabinet acknowledges with its panicky reaction that Islam is not comparable to Christianity, but is a unique ideology. And this ideology thus demands a separate, unique approach. The Koran film has thus already demonstrated its usefulness."

The National Anti-terrorism Coordinator has warned Wilders that he may have to leave the Netherlands temporarily after the appearance of his anti-Koran film, Wilders added in the letter. The film will appear in "a few weeks," said the PVV leader.

Yea, about as wide as the Grand Canyon.

The West owes Mr. Wilders a debt of gratitude for speaking
plainly about the problem of Islam.

A brave man.

You’ve got to figure that somebody in the European ruling classes is eventually going to have to acknowledge the stark truth of Mr. Wilders’ comments.

If they have leaders like Geo. Bush and Tony Blair they will not hear the truth from the leadership. - Tom

Surely you're not talking about the two leaders who committed large military forces to taking on militant Islam. You couldn't possibly be talking about them.

Will Geert Wilders live to see his next birthday?

Sadly, I’m betting he doesn’t.

He is absolutely correct though.

Had any strong leaders remained in Europe, such as a Churchill, Thatcher, DeGaulle, Adenauer, or Haakon, they would have.

The entire continent and their pitiable attempt at a United States of Europe called the EU has been gelded.

Like Theo Van Gogh, Wilders may indeed wind up as another 'canary in a coal mine.' Sadly, more will die before reality sinks deeply in. The West is awash in little people in leadership positions, wedded to their timidity. Including the USA.

All worthy folks. But you have to remember that Churchill succeeded Chamberlain. You cannot consider the post-war DeGaulle without first considering the pre-war Daladier. Thatcher was preceded by Labourite James Challaghan.

Just because the current crop is hiding their heads, doesn't mean there's not a new crop waiting in the wings to pick up the pieces. Sarkozy in France is one.

Well it is going to take the “little people” in the West to say, enough is enough because the leadership will not do it.

I most certainly am.

Both of them consider Islam a religion of peace and bend over backwards not to confront the fact that the terrorists are religiously motivated. Blair seems to be more clueless than Bush on that subject. Besides the religion of peace nonsense and the religion was hijacked cunard, Blair thinks it is about grievances also.

The thorough misunderstanding of fundamental Muslims is why we had such a difficult time after winning the war and disposing of Saddam and his sons. People at the highest levels of Govt in decision making rolls had no idea of the difference between an Shiite and a Sunni Muslim. They seemed to think of it as a Catholic Protestant thing.

For us, from day one (9-11) this has been a religiously driven terrorist war by fundamental Muslims. It has been going on for 1400 years and only recently have we got involved. - tom

Well Englands Prince Charles just did a real neat presentation to a Dubai or Saudi conference. He appeared in Hologram ! Just like in Star Wars. What fun.

He's not talking about the Marines. He's talking about the two socialist frat boys that keep saying over and over and over and over that islam is the Religion of Peace. Not once has either man stated publicly that islam is indeed a religious political philosophy hell bent on taking over the world and forcing their style of ignorance on the rest of us. The Marines know this, but it's not their place to shout it from the roof tops.
