Just as being a veteran/war hero did not make John Kerry the right man to be President, being a veteran/war hero does not make John McCain the right man to be President.

You Dad has open my eyes to the McCain of years ago ... I know for sure that he is not one to listen to people (the voters) in the last few years. I am a veteran also and will not, could not vote for him. IMHO he does not posses the character, the temperament, the energy or the ability to be President of the US. Not to mention the other fact ... he is not a conservative, let alone even a Republican. Of course all MHO only.
Hope you Dad is well. I know about the back thing as I had a L5-S1 similar problem corrected in much the same way. Take care.

John McCain was my commanding officer during my stint in a training squadron back in 1976...while I respect his service and sacrifice of both time and health, I cannot support him for his part in getting the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform passed.
Oddly, the squadron I ended up going to after training was VA-46, the squadron McCain was in when his A-4 was hit by that Zuni on the Forrestal. Ironic.

Not this veteran either. US Navy 1965 to 1969. VP-50 and VF-96. Many a crise in the Golf of Tonkin.

General Norman Swartzkopf is backing McCain.
If vet endorsements count, you’re outranked.
By a lot, I’m guessing. :-)

Want more blunt? ef McCain!

McCain’s status as a veteran is a given. His status as a war hero is uncertain. There are some former POWs who believe McCain received special treatment because he was an admiral’s son and because he was willing to make public appearances demonstrating how well the POWs were treated.
I suspect if he is the nominee, they will come forward in greater numbers and he will be discredited just like Kerry was.

Thank you for posting this letter from your Vietnam Vet father. We thank him for his service.
I hope some of McCain's media worshipers read your father's story and pay attention to his ill handling at the hands of the VA, Senator McCain and his office.
Voting for McCain destroys what remains of our sovreignty!
I'd sooner be waterboarded than vote for John McCain.
