They fund fish research for the same reason they fund medical research. And both involve evolution for the same reason -because that is how biology works. If you want science to work (and there is no point in funding science that doesn’t work) you have to go where the evidence goes. And the evidence is that developmental biology produces results.
If creation biology produced new useful findings and helped with medical advances it would likely get funded.
