When folks assign more respect to trees than human life, I leave the reservation.

Give me a break!

You honestly think that people who posted on this thread care more about a few trees than human life. To make that comparison is pathetic and quite possibly one the most ridiculous posts I've seen on FR.

I bet she'll get 6 months in jail and the $250,000 fine for each tree stands. If anything this case will set a good precedence. I can't stand self-righteous people like this.

Yep, lets send her off to prison. Good call. And three quarters of a million dollars? Yep that sounds about right. I was pulling for an even million, but okay, I guess I can go with $750,000.00.

My earlier comments stand. You're welcome to think what you like.

Quite frankly, Ponderosa Pines are worthless trees as far as sustaining a clean environment and contributing to clean air is concerned; however, at 7,000’ altitude, not much of anything will grow that will act as a net CO2 sink so they are not making a problem on their own

I have a big problem with the federal government owning and controlling all the property not tied up in residences or farms which is where we are headed with trusts, wetlands regulations, forest management, etc.

As DoughtyOne says, the allowed punishment is absurdly excessive, enforce the law as it stands, make equitable recompense and then brush up on the civics lessons and participate in the legislative process.
