Q: How much support do you think he has among the base of the Republican Party?

Roberta McCain: “I don’t think he has any. I don’t know what the base of the Repub–maybe I don’t know enough about it, but I’ve not seen any help whatsoever.”

She's something like 96. I think it's cheesy for an interviewer to ask leading questions like that of someone that old. I remember Connie Chung doing the same thing to Newt Gringrich's mom.

By the way, before I get firebombed, I'm not supporting McCain and I defended Romney last night on the boards.

Is that a current picture of Mama, because she looks younger than her son?

Yea but I don’t want a guy in there with only one and half brain cells firing, with the one functional one controling the one movable finger left resting on the red button and the other half-functioning one supplying the logic.

If you kick sand in the base’s face don’t expect them to hold your hand Johnny Boy.

No vote for McSane come May 6th from this guy.

He’s never supported the base, so why should we support him?

“McCain: Yes, I think holding their nose they’re going to have to take him.”

We don’t HAVE to take anyone. Keep telling yourself that, mama.

I would not say that.

He has plenty of support from his base— the main stream media, the Democrat Party , and Country Club Republicans— for now.

Now should he get the Republican nomination, the support from the main stream media and Democrat Party will vanish, leaving him with only the Country Club Republicans.

Will that be enough is the question?

As for me, I will not vote for him. If it comes down to him or Hillary, so be it.

Absolutely.

What was that line from the Little Rascals?

If you were my kids I'd punish you!

If we were your kids we'd punish ourselves!

I've noticed that all the candidates, including the Dems, have had a lot of misinformation circulated about them on the web. All the candidates have shortcomings, but if a candidate is really that bad, the truth should be enough to knock them out of the box. The info I refuted on Romney was flat disinformation. This on McCain is just sleazy. I oppose McCain primarily because of McCain-Fiengold, but I think fishing for an embarrassing quote from a 96 year old woman is low.

Dittos for Romney. There's stuff about his actual record that creates some serious questions, so why make stuff up? Geez, I'm gonna defend a Democrat, now. I could never support Obama, but there's stuff flying around the web about him taking the oath of office with his hand on the Koran, which is simply not true.

>I like McCain on military and anything that requires nerve.<

Really? Do you know what Vets think of him?

The War Secrets Sen. John McCain Hides

But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about -- his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

Our soldiers need a leader they can depend on - not one that will often turn on them.

McCain is not stable and I would never trust him to be there for any of us when needed. He loves the media and his ability to get what he wants from the dems rather than serving the conservative agenda.

We did not see him turn on us when we most needed his help 3 times and then believe him when he needs our support to get elected. He will turn on us again when we most need him - so why vote for someone who will stab us in the back?

We do not forget such things. We are looking for a leader we can trust and it will never be a John McCain no matter how he talks about the military. There is nothing worse than a president that tends to turn on his own and leave them hanging in the wind for his own personal gain.

They require nerve but they also require loyalty to their own - McCain does not have that valuable trait. He will turn on anybody in a minute for his own gain.

Dear Mama Mac... your sonny boy Johnnie has not played nice-nice with his conservative base. He has misbehaved and treated his conservative playmates very badly. He’s a spoiled brat Mama Mac always demanding his ways. Sorry Mama Mac but the conservative base has put lil Johnnie in Timeout. No presidency for him Mama for not playing nice with his conservative friends.

I saw the Greta interview with Roberta McCain. She really does look better than her son.

And sharp as a whip, no sir, she knew exactly whereof she spoke.
