It wasn't started by the Huckabites. They just picked it up as a rallying cry after Huck lost South Carolina. IIRC, it was started by the RNC-insider types who were doubling-down on Giuliani about the same time Fred officialy announced.

You are right. Just because someone is a friend doesn’t mean they are fit for President. Some of my friends are liberals but they’d never receive my endorsement if it ever came down to the point where it mattered.
