The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 27th, 2008
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.; former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Gen. David Petraeus; Paulson; former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass.; Huckabee.
Huckabee can endorse whomever he wants, but I (a Huckabee supporter) will absolutely not vote for McCain. Maybe if McCain repudiated his immigration views, I would consider him in the general election. Otherwise, no.
I recommend that FReepers vote for Romney if necessary.
Did Mitt respond forcefully? I don’t want him to sound petulant, I want him to be forceful and angry.
I’ve spent the last week in South America with no internet or news. Got back to find out Fred had dropped out. I can honestly say I don’t regret the money I sent him...wish he had done well.
As it is, I’ve going to have to hold my nose for anyone for President this election. But NOT McCain. There isn’t a clothespin strong enough...
BTW - I live in Arizona. If McCain knows how to secure the borders, I wish he’d share the knowledge. My guess is he’ll secure the border by eliminating it!
nah,,,,just that he does is enuf.......ROMNEY is the one
McLettuce will fall away soon enuf
Brit Hume was looking daggers at Wallace during that exchange. He looked seriously angry.
Romney on CNN - Really tearing into McCain and rightly so IMO. Of course, R was ignored by the MSM channels and relegated to CNN today.
You've got to be kidding me
Russert actually did a pretty decent job of showing McCain to be the lying, flip flopping, backstabbing moral midget that he indisputably is.
I say again, Romney is the better man, and I have no doubt that Florida Republicans now realize this and consequently will give Mitt the victory he deserves on Tuesday.
The Florida victory will propel Romney to the nomination, and ultimately the presidency.
Count on it. I haven’t been wrong yet.
it is effective to liberals and the TV protection, not us voters....not by a damned site
Obama is on with Steffie. Steffie mostly wanted to drag him into the cat fight aspect of the campaign.
He then asks him questions that are impossible to answer...like what could Clinton have done to change the trajectory. Obama has a pretty glib answer, though it contains no substance, as usual.
Mitt is mostly laughing at Blitzer’s use of dem film footage to conduct a debate right on this show. He responds analytically and hits his main points in every answer.
I'm starting to not like Fox so much.
I just realized! John McCain is Zaphod Beeblebrox, the totally insane and not too bright two headed President of the Galaxy from Douglas Adams' The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy (though he is known to have done heroic things from time to time).
"If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now."
Zaphod Beeblebrox
I don’t agree that loosing FL is fatal to any candidate. It is a weird place. The Cuban swing vote is one of the few actual GOP voting-blocks anywhere. You need this vote to win FL and consequently the Presidential election. But it could toss the primary to a candidate and be completely unique and not representative of the GOP voters as a whole.
I want to see the McCain, Romney, Rudy vote ex-Dade.
“OBAMA IS THE SCARIER “
there it is again............NO HE IS NOT SCARY
Owanna is the easiest to defeat.........
Words matter not color..............not on our side
We ain’t fightin racism
That’s why he creeps me out. I’ve been saying all along I can’t trust the security and prosperity of this country to a guy with the vacuous expression of a Cabbage Patch doll, and I MEAN that.
LOL. Spot on, as usual.
I can’t understand McCains rabid hatred of Rumsfeld. Even today on MTP instead of saying “The initial invasion was done right but Rumsfeld had the wrong strategy on the occupation” and couching it in conciliatory terms McCain insead has to trash the administration again..”the wars handling was a disaster...I’ve always been against Rumsfeld....the Bush administation blew it...” all in very hostile terms. Doesn’t he know he sounds like a confrontational democrat rather than someone on our side? I, like many here, don’t know if I could force myself to even vote for him even in the general....but I think we here are also a significant minority, akin to primary voters. I think the great unwashed voters who don’t really follow the news that much could easily support him in the general. While I would have liked to see Thompson stay in, it appears now that we need to hope Romney can pull it off.
So true! I love that story.
