With few exceptions I have found Mormons to be decent, honest Christians. As a Catholic I could easily lump many so-called Protestant denominations into that un-Christian category so many "orthodox" Christians assign to Mormons and for the same reasons. I refuse to do so. Whether Mormons, Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, or Episcopalians are actually Christian will only be determined by God. We are not here to judge, but to be judged. In the end, God will look into our hearts and actions, not into which pew we sat in or which hymns we sang.
One of the most important was left off your list:
CHRISTIAN:
1. One who believes Jesus Christ is God through faith alone in Christ alone.
or
1. One who believes Christ is the Jewish, God-Man, King, Messiah,
or
1. One who through faith alone in Christ alone i.e. believes God alone provides salvation.
If you noticed, this is a thread about religion, on which you are also participating, you are also making a choice here not to debate just "in church".
And we are not debating here the Constitution or the President, despite your being the first to bring those up. The topic is true christianity.
Mormons do not ascribe to Orthodox christianity. They do not believe that Deity is found only in the Trinity.
In fact, they go so far as to believe they too will be gods some day. This is far from Orthodox belief.

Pretty much describes the whole mainline.
Many would extend that argument to include Muslims as well since they also "believe" in Christ.
Mormons deny the Deity of Christ and the Trinity in general. In fact, they go so far as to believe that Jesus was a brother of the Devil.
If you want to believe that's Orthodox christianity, that's up to you. But I would bet your Catholic authorities would not agree with your opinion.
Why? Because Israelis have the nerve to defend themselves and to not willingly put their heads on the Islamic chopping block?
These types of people tolerate Jews only when they're defenseless and meek.
I wonder what YHvH thinks about the millions who worship the goddess of heaven.
b'SHEM Yah'shua
Not going there this time.
Very well, they have a very good relationship two way, hope that doesn't disappoint.
Yep!
one hears about fundamentalists Christians being well recieved in Israel but not so well here by more liberal Jews
I wondered how Mormons fared with Jews both here and in Israel.
(why on earth would you wonder if I was disappointed by your answer to an innocuous question...it’s not like I asked the meaning of life)
Seriously, the venom, especially from purported Christians, is mind-boggling
Why would you call them my authorities? I have not given jurisdiction over my soul or my mind. One of the chief messages of Christ, and the one he was killed for, was that we each have a personal, direct relationship with God. We do not need priests manning the toll booths on the highway to heaven or manning the Pearly Gates.
Whatever. If you belong to a Church you have some kind of an authority there. I never said you gave anyone "jurisdiction" over either your heart or mind.
The point I was making is...Orthodox Catholic theologians will tell you that Mormons do not believe in christian orthodoxy. Mormons do not believe Deity belongs only in the Godhead, and they believe they will be gods some day and they have other non-orthodox beliefs as well, some of which I've outlined in previous posts.
I never really thought much about Mormons....we didn’t have many where I’m from and they were mainly seen proselytizing on bicycles with ties
i don’t think questioning is bigotry any more than questioning any religion or denomination
christians have a right to question same as anyone
unless folks call them satan apostles or something.....
i was just curious about a connect tween Jews and Mormons.....Mormons are to Christianity as Messianic Jews are to Judaism..sorta....post modern a bit...
folks can worship as they like...i could care less unless they are running for POTUS
and Mitt may now get my support....maybe
You weren't the only one!
