One of the unfortunate aspects of any primary race is that it forces candidates to move to the fringe to appeal to their party base. That is now happening with regard to Iraq in the Democratic presidential contest. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have show themselves distressingly eager to play to ill-informed antiwar sentiment - and more so as time goes along. Last year, at least, they left themselves a good deal of wiggle room to continue a substantial American force presence in Iraq. Good God Almighty, we’d be better off with jack murtha as a choice. At least the troops would all have the tools they need, and they’d all be made in America. Pittsburgh, USA. Well, there might be some Made in China.
No sarcasm tag. None. Isn’t that pathetic.
"I hope"...lets her entirely off the hook.
It will be good for us who want to give war a chance to clean up the ME....
...but...the 'rat "base", moveon, du, kos....kooks will be mightly disappointed, I think.
The irony is the people who will be voting for any of the Demowit candidates in hopes they will pull all our troops out of Iraq will be very surprised this is not going to be done. Their so ill guided.
Age will matter if Obama wins for the Rats. There are issues of culture that McCain could raise but that only draws Red Staters. He needs to go after Blue states since the Dems will win some Red States this time. It is inevitable with the nature of the voters who are discombobulated in the Pub Party. It reminds me of ‘96 and that was a disaster.
