Mitt Romney is a highly accomplished man. He has his shortcomings as a candidate, and in particular as a conservative candidate, but it is just silly to call him an empty suit given his stellar academic credentials and his long record of accomplishment.
I live in Santa Barbara County, a very liberal part of my native state, and I can tell you Romney is gaining momentum here in leaps and bounds. His good looks, genteel manners and his history of leadership and success play very well here.
