A second 18-year-old has been charged with murder in the September fatal shooting of Lon Dell Wilson on Highway 101 near Burlingame.
Prosecutors allege "Mohammad" Rabah of Hayward supplied the handgun that Doyal "Ali" Webber used to shoot the 25-year-old Wilson in an apparent road rage incident.
Rabah was arraigned Friday in San Mateo County Superior Court after being arrested Thursday morning. He did not enter a plea and will be held without bail pending a Feb. 8 hearing for identification of counsel.
The two murder suspects were part of a caravan of three cars driving up Highway 101 toward San Francisco around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. Rabah was driving and Webber was a passenger in one of the cars when they encountered a silver Honda driven by Wilson.
After some sort of altercation between the vehicles, Rabah pulled out a handgun, and there was talk in the car of shooting at Wilson, Wagstaffe said. Then Webber allegedly took the gun from Rabah's hands and squeezed the trigger.
Wilson, who authorities say did not know the suspects, crashed into a drainage ditch. He was pronounced dead the next day.
Rabah, who is listed as unemployed and lives with his parents, is being charged with murder for aiding and abetting the fatal shooting, Wagstaffe said.
Of Rabah's arrest, Linda Allen, Wilson's mother, said, "It helps bring a closure that another parent's child might be saved from these types of children on the street who think they can just point a gun and shoot at an innocent person who's on their way home."
