actually I always felt it was a good idea to allow prior service folk back in to do support stuff and leave the rough and tumble stuff to the younger ones.No benis just an hourly rate and a sence of worth
A neighbor of my mother's, retired from Army intelligence, was called up from "inactive reserve" in 2006. He was 58 years old! Went to some Army base to train new Intelligence guys.
In all honesty the military kinda does this through contractors. It would be a good plan though, to set up government listings for past vets during wartime operations.
