Actually if you base this finding in my state, the reason is that getting knocked up in your senior year of high school and then every year or so after guarantees a modest income. The payroll department where I work told me that they have 71% of the males they have on the books paying child support thru state mandate(it's not optional here) thru payroll deductions. It's pathetic.

I have a neighbor(who's pretty typical) who's 24 and has had three children from three different daddies, pulling in $1,400 per month. Her mother did the same thing. It's just enough to not work. It's been three years since the last one and she's really trying to expand her income again.

Medical knowledge and technology has played the major role in much of this change. Not being in that area of work, I haven’t contributed to that.
