THE US will commit $US2 billion ($2.27 billion) over the next three years for a new international fund to promote clean energy technologies and fight climate change, President George W. Bush will tell Congress today in his annual State of the Union speech.

Otherwise I am cool with expanding knowledge about alternative energy sources (look for the Prez to accent nuclear) while staying in the bounds of reality of our dependence on oil due to it's availabilty and highest bang-for-the-gallon going. While I didn't see "climate change" I would agree that "greenhouse gases" is a good way there. But I will add that Kyoto has been obliterated by the idea of excluding China and India and that there seems to be a market approach here. I'll just wait to hear what and how it is said.
