Republican Debate 1-30-08 (Live Thread)
Self | January 30, 2008 | PJ-Comix

Just a reminder out there to everybody to tune in to tonight's CNN Republican Debate from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA. 8 to 10 PM EST.

This will probably be the most crucial primary debate of them all for Republicans since it is the last one before Super Tuesday. So what topics should be brought up? If I were Mitt Romney, I would stress HARD McCain's support for amnesty for illegal aliens. Also Mitt should remind people that McCain OPPOSED the Bush tax cuts when they were first introduced.

Post your pre-debate comments and, after 8 PM, post your running commentary of the debate.

Oh, an OT historical sidenote here. Today marks the 75th anniversary of Hitler becoming Chancellor of Germany on Jan. 30, 1933. That occured to me when I posted the date on this thread.

What Flaming Liberal Reporter will be the moderator this time?

Will the Democrats be allowed more activists plans in the Audience.

Will the Liberal Reporter ask the Democratic activists if they are satisfied with the Republican's answers again?

/Sarcasm OFF

Live internet feed?

DUnno. If anybody has the link, then post it. BTW, I felt the last Republican debate was way too polite. They need to mix it up more tonight.

Don’t believe you need a /sarc tag there. Your questions are valid.

I would guess we can’t submit questions to the candidates in any medium, be it call-in, e-mail or YouTube.

I really haven’t watched any of the debates.

Did a reporter really ask on the Democrat activists if they were satisfied with the Republican answers?

Who was the reporter or moderator?

Only one guy will be left on stage that believes in small government. Hope he holds the others’ feet to the fire.

I seriously doubt it will be polite.

No concensus just yet. As Rush just said on the radio, McCain has almost no campaign money. That could be a big factor. Now if Mitt will only bring up McCain’s support for illegal alien amnest and opposition to the tax cuts...

I hope you’re right. Politeness is way over-rated when it comes to debates. Show me a polite debate and I’ll show you a boring debate.

I do hope Paul beats their heads in with the big government nanny state stuff, but I can’t vote for him with a clear conscience. The whole ‘fight them there or fight them here’ thing comes to mind. I also have a T-shirt with that.

If we could get him to understand that the whole North American Union thing is a real-live threat, and that crazy Muslims, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, Russia and China want America destroyed, then he might be a viable candidate.

Until then, I won’t hold my breath waiting.

IIRC, this is a CNN broadcast.

They usually have a link to a streaming feed.

I think CNN has a live web broadcast that is free.

‘Ronald Reagan Presidential Library’

I’m pretty sure the inital or part of the debate will be centered on Magnus and how the candidates are like or dislike him.

Other features:
Debate is in California-Illegals
Upcoming, Recent as of 14:15 today; I think a Fed cut
Stimulus Package good/bad

Yeah, the activist was a hmsxl general who worked for Hillary, who was flown in by CNN. He asked his gy question to embarrass the rep. debate. and then the Lib reporter asked "Are you satisfied with that answer" and he answered "No".

I think we in FreeRepublic Identified 4 more Dem/Activist plans in that debate, proving what I believe. That Republicans cannot trust Liberal Moderators for their Debates at all.

I've got a post on it and will look for you.
