Going the way of the Datsun?

Um... no.

Datsun is still with us. They just changed their name back to Nissan after enough time had passed after WW2 that most of the buying public hadn’t served in a war where a quarter of the stuff that was shooting at them said “Made By Nissan” on it.

Datsun was just a rebranding of Nissan cars. It was never anything else. My 1990 Nissan Pathfinder (tooling designed before the switch) still has some “Datsun/Nissan” logos in its parts.

Well, if you name a car the “Ass-ender” you’ve gotta deal with the consequences.

Rats. I heard Mitt Romney was in line to be their next spokesman.

Isuzu is still selling cars here? Could’ve fooled me.

"...The company said in a statement that it will back its products and dealers for years to come, honoring all product warranties and roadside assistance programs..."

I recall that manufacturers MUST provide backing for seven years.

Here’s a quickie link to some great info about Joe. He is one of my all time favorites!

http://www.tvacres.com/admascots_joeisuzu.htm

I would love to see a series of ads touting conservatism using him as a spokesman for liberals. The series could go a long way to educate Americans as to what conservative really means, not what we’ve let the MSM/Lefties define as over the last 10 years!

Wish one of the big truly conservative organizations would take this on. Could be our only hope of saving conservatism from being mis-defined right out of existence.

Isuzu will live on in the GM Duramax Diesel. That is a turbo charged Isuzu diesel engine.

My favorite was the one where he was taunting the Beefeater in London: "...fit for a King! Or a Queen, if that's all you've got."

Yeah, for me it was a toss-up between that one and the ad set on the autobahn in Germany.

My first vehicle was an 86 Pup. Not a bad little cheap truck.

I guess they’ll still be making the Duramax Diesel engine for GM??

Amen!

I have an ‘89 2.6 with 380,000+ on her and I drive it to work every day. BY FAR the best vehicle I have EVER owned. I love it!

I hate this, but it really was just a matter of time. When they were bought out, their production was cut tremendously. GM never really wanted the vehicles, just the technology for the engines. Shame, really, because they are great vehicles, with a little TLC.

I’ve got an 02 Axiom. I guess it’s now worth even less. WEEEE, I’ve got a boat anchor. At least it’s been fairly reliable.
