His father and grandfather were admirals. McCain did not graduate from the ACademy with honors as I understand it and I am not sure what kind of pilot he was...I do not understand this “ I was commander of the largest Squadron in the Navy”.. My husband is retired Marine naval avaitor and as I understand it squadrons are all about the same size... Maybe someone could with more insight could clarify that. If he was a Group Commander then he would have had squadrons under his command. I wonder if that is what he means.
I’ve heard that a lot from McCain - I’m going to check it out with the Canteen folks.
