McCain, as a politician, has been a huge disappointment, but he is a genuine war hero, and for that, I salute him.

Yeah, and as Thomas Sowell said, Benedict Arnold was a war hero, too.

100%

I don't blame McCain for what he said....

Romney would be better than McCain for the GOP in November.

Being a war hero is not a lifetime get-out-of-jail-free card. And becoming President of the United States is not a matter of rewarding an individual for past services.-Thomas Sowell

John McCain lacks leadership for War on Terror. His leadership codified the Army interrogation manual. His leadership granted terrorists American citizenship under Fifth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. He ensured information vital for terrorist defeats remains sacred and unobtainable. Terrorists are unresponsive to direct questioning and psychological gambits, so interrogators need the range of techniques our military encounters in survival schools. McCain embraces liberal orthodoxy considering those methods torture, when his searing experiences enable contrary incites.

McCain especially understands terrorists are not insurgents or freedom fighters; when captured, certainly not prisoners of war. They are not armed forces, militias, or volunteer corps of any country or authority. These killers are not members of organized resistance movements carrying arms openly. They have no distinctive identifier. McCain understands Geneva Conventions intended to isolate such forces, provide no protections and destroy them with any overwhelming fury needed to crush their abominations.

McCain especially appreciates devastating, unforeseeable perils must lead deliberations, because laws guaranteeing and defining American civil liberties presuppose operability within an invincible society. The Federal government’s primary responsibility is to pursue Alexander Hamilton’s admonition that defensive power exist without limitation, providing capabilities thwarting dangers as well as responding to attacks. McCain understands powerful warfare capabilities require potent intelligence acquisition and exploitation for successful campaigns.

McCain continually seeks popular advancement by placating those coveting comforting morality sheltered from hard choices and awareness of danger. His crime is repudiating those facing hard choices when confronting shrewd, ruthless enemies obscured by frightening uncertainties.

Benedict Arnold was a genuine war hero. He was also a traitor, as is McCain.

he is a genuine war hero, and for that, I salute him.

He makes that very clear, but I still don’t know what that has to do with his politics, he is an 80% liberal Republican which is hard to swallow, his war record is the only thing he has going for him, which to me does not make Presidential material.
