Several GOP Officials in NJ Endorse McCain
WNYC ^ | January 31, 2008 | Bob Hennelly

NEW YORK, NY January 31, 2008 —Several New Jersey Republican officials are following the lead of their former favorite, Rudy Giuliani, and endorsing John McCain for president. WNYC's Bob Hennelly has more.

Leading the pack of Rudy supporters crossing over to McCain is Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Junior. The younger Kean joins the ranks of the McCain campaign, of which his father, former governor Tom Kean Senior was a member.

McCain's high profile split with the Bush presidency and his own Republican party on a wide range of issues including immigration and the war in Iraq was a good fit for the elder Kean.

The former governor who led the 9/11 Commission has been a consistent critique of the Bush administration.

Today's convergence of the McCain and Giuliani camps creates an uphill climb for Mitt Romney, especially in a state that permits independents to weigh in come primary day.

More attempts by MSM to create a bandwagon effect for their candidate, McCain.

Gee that's about as shocking as another Spears kid heading to rehab.

I love how my friends here at Free Republic are still in denial, they just can’t seem to be able to tell the difference between a moderate Republican and a commie, you know what. McCain has the best chance of beating Hillary and by beating her majesty preventing socialized medicine and certain defeat in Iraq. Not to mention that we may, if the top of the ticket isn’t a drag on those lower down, regain some of our lost House seats. More conservatives in Congress would be a good thing, not a bad thing. There is no such thing as winning by losing.

Laura Ingraham made note of that Olson endorsement and then added that near all the rest of the Reagan era justice dept who had initially backed Thompson had now gone over to Romney.

And then she added: “The elitists continue to be abandoned by the workaday grunts.”

I could never in good conscience vote for either Preacher or Giuliani, but I can hold my nose and vote for McCain as the lesser of two evils.
