I don’t know what the mother’s motivation is, it could be that she honestly believes that this is best for her daughter. However, after watching the terrible things parents will subject their children to in cases of divorce, I cannot discount the motive of hurting the other parent. I know that is a terrible thing to say, but parents do it all the time, using the kids to get back at the other parent.
