“Olmert: We’re prepared for any scenario”
By JPOST.COM STAFF
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The possibility that a Palestinian mob will storm the border of the Gaza Strip with Israel like it did in Rafah is of low probability, but Israel is prepared to deal with any situation that arises as Palestinians prepare to form a “human chain” along the border with Israel on Monday morning, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said early Monday when he landed in Tokyo.
“I’m not aware of such a warning,” he said. “But in the Middle East every far-fetched scenario must be taken into account and provided with a good solution. We take scenarios into account even if they are low probability.”
The prime minister responded to reports of mounting pressure on Israel to end the blockade of the Strip and cease military operations there.
“I have not received any specific message from the United States regarding the Gaza issue,” he said. “We will strike where it is necessary and we will strike anyone we need to in order to stop the Kassam rockets. We will not accept moral preaching in this matter from anyone. The information is known to all; the extent of the shooting. We don’t need to apologize to anyone.””

“Iranian dissidents urge immediate nuclear checks”
Wednesday, 20 February 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “BRUSSELS, Feb 20 (Reuters) - An Iranian opposition group called on Wednesday for the U.N. nuclear watchdog to immediately inspect facilities in Iran which it said were at the core of an accelerated nuclear weapons programme.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran dismissed a December U.S. National Intelligence Estimate that Tehran stopped trying to make a nuclear warhead in 2003, shortly after the group first revealed the country’s nuclear enrichment activity.
It charged that Iran had established a new command and control centre for the programme coded-named Lavizan-2 at Mojdeh on the southeastern outskirts of Tehran last April, near the site of a previous facility razed after its exposure.
The NCRI said the Iranian government was also actively pursuing production of nuclear warheads at a complex code-named B1-Nori-8500 at Khojir about 20 km (12 miles) further southeast.”

Sen. Barack Obama
JERUSALEM The board of a nonprofit organization on which Sen. Barack Obama served as a paid director alongside a confessed domestic terrorist granted funding to a controversial Arab group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a “catastrophe” and supports intense immigration reform, including providing drivers licenses and education to illegal aliens.
The co-founder of the Arab group in question, Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, also has held a fundraiser for Obama. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.
In 2001, the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit that describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, for which Khalidi’s wife, Mona, serves as president. The Fund provided a second grant to the AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.
Obama was a director of the Woods Fund board from 1999 to Dec. 11, 2002, according to the Fund’s website. According to tax filings, Obama received compensation of $6,000 per year for his service in 1999 and 2001.
Obama served on the Wood’s Fund board alongside William C. Ayers, a member of the Weathermen terrorist group which sought to overthrow of the U.S. government and took responsibility for bombing the U.S. Capitol in 1971.
Ayers, who still serves on the Woods Fund board, contributed $200 to Obama’s senatorial campaign fund and has served on panels with Obama at numerous public speaking engagements. Ayers admitted to involvement in the bombings of U.S. governmental buildings in the 1970s. He is a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

This, far more than candidate native garb attire (Drudge Report), is what American voters should be concerned about!
DeKalb County authorities are investigating the cause of an explosion and fire that damaged stores at a strip mall early today. No injuries are reported in the fire that began with an explosion in a building on Memorial Drive about 1:30 a.m.
Explosion and fire damage Creston business
Jackson says two buildings and four vehicles were heavily damaged. He says the fire doesn't appear to be suspicious in nature, although the state fire marshal has been called in to help with the investigation.
....Meanwhile disturbing statistics about the Caribbean have been collated in a joint study by the UN and World Bank. According to the study the Caribbean is the world leader in violent crime: it has a murder rate of 30 per 100,000 inhabitants - four times the North American figure and 15 times the western European average. Jamaica is the world's most murderous country, followed by El Salvador, Guatemala and Venezuela. But some smaller islands are catching up: St Kitts, with only 40,000 inhabitants suffered three murders in four days last November. The Bahamas can be dangerous and in Trinidad and Tobago the murder rate has quadrupled in the last 10 years. The upsurge in violence is mainly due to drug dealing - which has seen an increase for gangs in cash and weapons......
