Learning a language may be a good decision for the future but this is America and you should have a choice. This is an English speaking country to boot.

Just a thought, but young people in Europe master their own language and speak two or three more. The difference is that in Europe it is a two way street. As American students are forced to learn Spanish, Spanish-speaking student should be equally obliged to learn English. I’m personally tired of and offended by this one-way street find ourselves on.
