Victory, Not Perfection

War On Terror: The world's most dangerous job? For years the answer has been: third-in-command of al-Qaida. But after we've again eliminated the holder of that office, why do both Democratic and Republican senators keep whining?

A favorite refrain of congressional Democrats, including those running for president, is to point out that Osama bin Laden is yet to be apprehended. But who would Hitler or Mussolini have rather kidnapped or killed — King George VI or his prime minister, Winston Churchill?

Bin Laden for years now has to a great extent become a figurehead, almost an Islamofascist version of the British monarch. Like the queen, he waves to the crowds from time to time (in the form of video rants), but it is his immediate underlings who do the heavy lifting in running al-Qaida's global network.

The man on the street may not know who Aba Zubaydah was, or who Abu Faraj al-Libbi is. The name of Hamza Rabia may seldom come up in conversation at the water cooler or the dinner table, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is a dim memory in the minds of many Americans.

But all these figures served as al-Qaida No. 3s, and all were captured or sent to meet their maker by our forces. We can now add to this rogues gallery yet another al-Qaida third-in-command:

Abu Laith al-Libi, who last week was reported killed in Pakistan by a U.S. airstrike.

I’m just sorry the media doesn’t keep an old-fashioned head count. You know, cross them out with a red X.

The drivebyes scream "increased violence" in afghanistan yet fail to mention that 85% of the "victims" are jihadis sent to allah(May Pigs Be Upon Him)with most of the rest being unarmed civilians slaughtered by said jihadis.

I think last year's Spring Offensive failed to materialize. Perhaps due to the writer's strike?

Dispassionately, remotely disposed of by an Air Force officer, sitting alone in a windowless room, operating a set of gimbal controls.... probably between sips of coffee....
