War On Terror: The world's most dangerous job? For years the answer has been: third-in-command of al-Qaida. But after we've again eliminated the holder of that office, why do both Democratic and Republican senators keep whining?
Bin Laden for years now has to a great extent become a figurehead, almost an Islamofascist version of the British monarch. Like the queen, he waves to the crowds from time to time (in the form of video rants), but it is his immediate underlings who do the heavy lifting in running al-Qaida's global network.
The man on the street may not know who Aba Zubaydah was, or who Abu Faraj al-Libbi is. The name of Hamza Rabia may seldom come up in conversation at the water cooler or the dinner table, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is a dim memory in the minds of many Americans.
But all these figures served as al-Qaida No. 3s, and all were captured or sent to meet their maker by our forces. We can now add to this rogues gallery yet another al-Qaida third-in-command:
Abu Laith al-Libi, who last week was reported killed in Pakistan by a U.S. airstrike.

I think last year's Spring Offensive failed to materialize. Perhaps due to the writer's strike?
