Fantastic thought piece. Unfortunately we are at the same penultimate point as the old atomic doomsday clock. It is one minute to midnight. Of all of the possible choices on the GOP side, with all of their attributes and flaws, only one remains who has any chance against McCain. Romney is not the first or second or even third choice of most conservatives, but a dispersal of our votes among several opponents of McCain, will be the end of us. For that reason, Romney is the only logical choice left for all who want to defeat McCain.
