McCain actually has potential to defeat the RAT candidate. Romney doesn't. His poll numbers are terrible, and his unfavorables keep rising (now up to 47%). Almost half the electorate say they would definitely vote against him. Wait till he wins the nomination and the media turns against him. They have been holding back on the tons of things that the small group of politic junkie conservatives know about him. When the media lets loose, his numbers will be in the teens. Conservatives won't show up for him, "moderates" and "independents" will desert him, and the cross over democrats will laugh their way to the Whitehouse.

Romney doesn't have the negatives. He has cash to overcome the mainstream media - if that is possible by any of our candidates.

I agree Romney doesn’t have skeletons in his closet, but he has to have negatives for his unfavorables to be so high. How he would get them down, I have no idea. He’s had more than a year to improve his standing with the electorate, but he has only succeeded with some of the GOP base. Among the rest of the electorate, reaction has been very negative.
