LOL! Yeah. No ‘drat and double drat’ today.
Do we get a toaster on Sunday?
If so, I’d like a picture of the White House in the snow as it is snowing for what must be the 100th day in a row out here in Iowa. Purple toaster, please.
LOL
You knew your time was coming, didn’tcha?
If you have a moment either during or after the Super Bowl, I encourage you to read what I consider to be a profound commentary by THE ANCHORESS.
She eloquently articulates what I has been bothering me for the last 2 years about so many self-described CONSERVATIVES (particularly those on radio and at FR).
These so-called conservatives have elevated a political ideology to the level of RELIGION, which is why so many of them despise the social conservatives in the Republican Party. After all, most social conservatives subordinate their political ideology to the TRUE religion of Christianity (and Judaism, et al); those who worship at the alter of MOVEMENT conservatism do not. [This is also why they so despise/disparage President Bush, a president who has made his priorities clear from day one: He is a Christian first, a president (of all the people) second, and a Republican with a conservative world view third .. . This is APOSTASY for the conservative zealots who insist that their POPE (and in some cases, ‘god’), Ronald Reagan, would never have behaved this way — when, of course, he did!]

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
BTW: I agree with the ANCHORESS’ last statement in a companion commentary:
“All I know is this: Im already missing George W. Bush.”

Thankfully you’ve made it this far through your first Iowa winter. I hope you are getting along well. Soon spring will come and it will be delightful. We here in Wyoming are spending a lot of time coping with the cold keeping water flowing. Even some of our water mains are freezing. And everyone is cheerful, polite and helpful.
If I could get out of the house, I guess I'd find out if people were "cheerful, polite and helpful." All I know is that the 2 of us in here are getting a little bi$chy. : )
I'll have to don the 'yaktrax' and get out tomorrow to teach class. blech!
George W. Bush: Fighting to the Finish is the #1 DVD in Politics, ‘
Glad to say I contributed...lol. After the initial showing, as soon as the show was over, I jumped on my trusty PC and ordered the DVD....but, won’t be delivered for a while.
iirc, Brett said more of the interview would be online ...wish they would have aired the entire interview.
I’m hoping the DVD includes ALL of the videoclips available on the website!
So your son did join you there. Good. I didn't know that.
“Im hoping the DVD includes ALL of the videoclips available on the website!”
Me too, DrDeb! It was a wonderful interview but, I must admit, it made me sad......as did, the FINAL SOTU address. I just hate thinking of the day when our dear President will leave Office. I’ll be happy for him and Laura, but, I will have a real sense of loss when he leaves.
*sniff*.....me too....
Especially in light of the clowns who are after his job, I worry about America!

As do I!
And we’re in good company. The polls (as flawed as they are) indicate that most Republicans are less than enthusiastic about our candidates this cycle:
PEW POLL (released today):
Scroll down to the section titled: “Republicans Remain Dissatisfied” [Make sure you review the chart detailing the favorability ratings among Republicans for President Bush, McCain, Romney and Huckabee — it once again gives lie to the notion that the President lacks the support of his base! FYI: Given the poll’s MOE, the President’s favorability is the same as McCain’s; however, Pew neglected to identify the STRONGLY favorable percentage which is always HIGH for the President and LOW for McCain.

This is one election in which I would love it if the sitting
president could run for a 3rd term.
Lord knows what is going to happen with the WOT after he
leaves and the congress gets done with it. Frightening.
But, maybe I am not giving America enough credit for resilience.
Yeah, he's been here since August when he got laid off (bad news for him, good news for me). He blames me for all the weather... I don't think he's adjusted yet.
Yes we do give toasters on Sunday I will sort the toasters out after I post tonight’s dose which I am putting up shortly.
