I have a question for you. I’ll answer yours if you’ll answer mine. You give it short shrift, you can expect the same.

RINOs pretend to be conservative and coopt a conservative site like Free Republic. As far as I can tell, not one of them has responded to my contention that this isn’t a GOP website, it’s a conservative website so they have no business telling us to vote for a RINO.

The GOP turned its back on conservatism when it didn’t uphold Thompson or Hunter. Putting this kind of RINO garbage on Free REpublic deserves a zot.

We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. ....

From the front page of Free Republic:

Statement by the founder of Free Republic
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. .... We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. .... We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.

Time for the FALCONservatives to assert themselves.

The time may soon come where many of us say, like Ronald Reagan’s famous quote regarding the Democrat party, “I didn’t leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me.”

So, here’s my question: Why do you expect Freepers to toe the Republican line when it isn’t a republican website?

Come next year, either a Republican or a Democrat will be the President. One party has 0% conservative values. The other has varying degrees of conservative values, depending which candidate, most have at least 50%. Which do you prefer?

It has nothing to do with being a Republican. I never said it did. And it has nothing to do with toeing that party line either. What I’m talking about specifically is the war on terror and which candidate would be the better choice to lead it. I don’t think that Clinton or Obama would be the kind of hawk that we need with active wars on two fronts and possibly another looming with Iran. I’m not suggesting that people vote for McCain because he has the R after his name. I’m asking if it’s worth sacrificing control of the war to make a point about immigration or McCain/Feingold, as people like Malkin and Bruce have suggested.

Does that answer your question? I’m not asking that in sarcasm. I just want to make sure that you understand where I’m coming from.
