California has early voting. By tomorrow night, half the voters are expected to have already cast their ballots. A Survey USA poll that looked at early voting through 1/27 found McCain with a 10 point lead over Romney, with 29% saying they had already voted.
Movement toward Romney, if real, in the last few days, is unlikely to be enough to overcome the lead McCain has had over the past month. Not to mention that most polls still show McCain ahead. The RCP average has McCain up 4.2 points in CA.
We’ll know the outcome soon enough.
Maybe not, however, the state conducts a district by district election for delegates that Romney can win a large share that minimizes McCain’s delegate total.
