Excerpt -
KABUL, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Afghan police left the house of former ethnic Uzbek warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum after briefly surrounding it on Sunday after he and a group of around 50 armed men beat up a former ally, police officials said. Dostum, a fierce warlord who changed sides and alliances many times during Afghanistan's 30 years of war, beat up his former election manager Akbar Bay late on Saturday and shot a bodyguard, the Kabul police chief said, before escaping to Dostum's house.

WOW! Sounds like wild-west style politics to me. I think these people have real possibilities when it comes to democracy.

Dostum "beat up his former election manager Akbar Bay" Well he did lose.
Obviously a slap on the wrist (or less) for Dostum. I don't know about his current following, but he could at one time (and did) lead an Army.

Dotson is the guy who tied people to the treads of tanks and then drove over them. Others he would hang by raising the gun barrel of a tank and slowly strangle them. I look forward to his turn.

Animals all, no doubt. But what do you expect from a region when war is most anyone has ever seen? I’m not the person who shouts about actions in war as atrocities - war istelf is an atrocity. Dostum was our guy. You bemoan the actions of your enemies and praise the actions of allies. I wonder if he’s considered rouge and on a hit list, or still on the plantation.

I don’t think Afghanistan has the legal term assault. Now beatings and torture they understand...
