After securing the area, coalition forces recovered numerous small arms and rocket-propelled grenades and launchers, as well as an improvised explosive device. Allwere destroyed on site to prevent their use by extremist forces.
Coalition forces are focused on disrupting every facet of insurgent operations, Army Maj. Chris Belcher, a Combined Joint Task Force 82 spokesman, said.
(From a Combined Joint Task Force 82 news release.)
Oruzgan is one of the spicier provinces in Afghanistan. If you’re looking for action, the places to go in Afghanistan are (in no special order).... Kandahar, Helmand, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktia, Oruzgan, and Zabol. Not that there isn’t some action in other places too, but those are your real exciting places.
HOS-tile Territory for sure.
Right now, the forward fire bases are all but marooned for the winter - but they are carrying the heavy load
