WOODSTOCK, GA Will John McCain lock up the nomination on Super Tuesday? Not according to Mike Huckabee.
I think he's being a little bit optimistic about what Tuesday's going to bring," Huckabee said.
"We plan on staying in until the last bell. When I hear people say that, I don't know if its to great this mood out there that its presumptively over. Our voters don't feel that way.
Thats as far as he would go in differing with McCain at this mornings press conference.
Asked why he was more critical of Romney than McCain, Huckabee said he appreciated how McCain recognizes him as a worthy competitor and not as a nuisance.
John McCain has not suggested that somehow he has a right to the nomination and I should quit because Im in his way.
Huckabee said, by contrast, Romney is making the suggestion that I ought to step aside and allow him to waltz to the nomination.
Frankly Ive been a little offended.

Good.
Yet another reason to vote for Mitt! :)
The ol’ Huckster wants the VP slot with McLame bad...
Huck’s sun is setting soon.
And he will go back to the obscurity from which he came.
Huckabee should stop campaigning for McCain.
I’m offended that Huckabee has been lying about his record in Arkansas throughout this entire campaign, with ridiculous answers like, “I didn’t raise taxes, I raised hope”, but still cloaking himself in Christianity.
I heard Romney say that it is not for him to say if Huckabee should stay in or not, in fact he said Huckabee had every right to stay in. He also said that he (Romney) felt that Huckabee staying in would split the more conservative vote.
Romney is right in that. If that offends Huckabee than he needs to get a much thicker skin or get out of the frying pan.
Huckabee is an obnoxious whiner. I have seldomely encountered a GOP candidate more phony and insincere than the Huckster.
He will once be remembered as the guy who prevented the Thompson presidency.
Huckabee is running for McCain’s VP.
He’s out there collecting delegates to give to McCain at the convention in exchange for the VP spot.
If McCain is the GOP nominee, then Republican will get blown out of Congress. This race isnt just about president. It is also for one-third of the Senate and all of the House.
Liberals will come out to vote for... Democrats.
Moderates will come out to vote for McCain and... Democrats.
Conservatives will stay home and not vote for anyone.
When its all over, Democrats will have a filibuster-proof Super Majority in the Senate, and margins so wide in the House that the liberals will run amok.
Republican governors will fall across the country.
This is what McCain brings to the GOP ticket. This is his unseen legacy in the GOP, and Huckabee is a willing accomplice.
Hack-abee.
Yes. But when he does it, it’s not mean. Romney hurt his feelings by not treating him like he thinks he should be treated (and he wants to run against Hillary).
Yes, just yesterday!

Huckabee: Romney ‘needs to step aside’
if anybody ought to be quitting, it’s Mitt Romney.
Huckabee - the very incarnation of a political snake oil salesman.
The United States is more than the South. Huckabee probably isn’t going to get close to enough delegates to win the nomination, but he’ll drag Romney down (sort of how Thompson dragged Huckabee down in in South Carolina—just to toss that in there....).
Well I don’t know who said what, but I don’t think anyone should quit. If they have the votes fine, If they don’t well better luck next time. This thinking of people getting in line behind a candidate because Steve Forbes or Fred Barnes says so is a crock. We have elections so that we can all vote for whom we want, it called freedom.
He might be offered VP by McCain.
