It really doesn't matter what his position on abortion is. What matters is that he will appoint judges that uphold Roe instead of judges that will overturn it. Last time I checked, McCain and Warren Rudman were buddy-buddy.
McCain recently complained that Justice Alito wore his conservatism on his sleave. I have yet to hear him issue a complaint against Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

And thus, with such hyperbole and hysteria, you have negated an issue that is important to many Conservative voters. Oh, it's gettin' goood!
