Did the GOP in MA actually do anything except raise money to keep their jobs?

Consider...if McCain weren’t a politician, he’d be a serial killer.

All the more reason NOT to vote for McCain.

I think this will be the first since I have been voting (1979) that I will not be casting a vote for President if John McCain is the nominee, and I’ve never thought I would ever feel that way, and there’s only one person responsible — John McCain.

The Boston Globe seems to paint a different picture than McCain's campaign press release

> The locals who know Romney best know he’s no good.

Yes, he was no good to the Massachusetts Liberal Establishment.

I live in NH. I am an escapee from the totalitarian statist gulag that was once the Cradle of Freedom, what was once the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

During my growing-up years, the Democrat machine developed a breathtaking stranglehold on the state politics. They took over with the vengeance of the Mafia. In fact, some of those in the State Government were actually IN the Mafia, and some of them probably still are.

Every once and a while, the electorate of Massachusetts chose a Republican governor. I can’t understand why, since Republican governors in Massachusetts are LAME DUCKS FROM DAY ONE!

Mitt Romney was a breath of fresh air. He rattled the Liberal Establishment in Massachusetts, which includes most of the Republican Establishment there.

Say what you want about Mitt Romney, but the fact that the Liberal Republican establishment in Massachusetts is against him, and has nothing good to say about him, speaks volumes to me about his VIRTUE!

Um, he WAS the liberal establishment. He and himself. He only paraded himself as something else. Lied his ass off to get elected and left it just dead. The state would’ve been better off had he never been elected. He made Jane Swift look like Margaret Thatcher.

How you going to spin that epic butt kicking administered to “Senator Inevitable Nominee” by Republican voters?

I don't know Johnnie, but do you suppose the Romney campaign might have been so determined to get a win that it picked up supporters and shuttled them to the caucuses? The way it bussed in supporters to CPAC and Ames last year so it could stuff the ballot box and make it appear that Romney was the top choice?

The simple fact is that Romney has spent an enormous amount money. The most notable outcome is that 47% of voters now say they would definitely not vote for him.

. “He is consistent on the issues, and does not waver with the political winds. He stands up for what he believes, and does what he knows is right, even when it isn’t politically popular. In these most challenging times, we need a leader we can count on. That’s why I am proud to support John McCain for president.”...

McCain consistent on the issues? He’s the most inconsistent of all, and on some major issues: immigration and Bush tax cuts to name two. Is this woman that clueless, or just crafting lies to match McCain’s?

Then how come the Liberal establishment in Massachusetts, including the Liberal Media (a redundancey) HATES him?

The Liberal establishment in Massachusetts was there long before Mitt reached puberty, and is still there even though he is no longer governor.

I wasn’t living in Massachusetts when Mitt was governor, but I do live in New Hampshire and travel through Massachusetts a few times per week.

I listened to the Boston news stations, and I followed Howie Carr and Jay Severin almost daily. I heard Mitt being interviewed on the radio and calling into talk shows often.

My impression was quite different from yours.

Do you live in or near Massachusetts?

> He made Jane Swift look like Margaret Thatcher.

Oh PLEASE!!

What a load of hyperbole!!

"Then how come the Liberal establishment in Massachusetts, including the Liberal Media (a redundancey) HATES him?"

Self-loathing. :-)

"The Liberal establishment in Massachusetts was there long before Mitt reached puberty, and is still there even though he is no longer governor."

I found it quite amusing how he tried to market himself as being opposed to them.

"Do you live in or near Massachusetts?"

My residency is irrelevent. I've written ad infinitum about MA politics for many years now.

"Oh PLEASE!! What a load of hyperbole!!"

Technically speaking, Swift left the office and party standings in the same or better shape than she found it. Romney didn't. Like I said, he made her look like Thatcher. :-)
