Um, granddad was no party faithful either, really. After all, he only became a Republican when he ran for the White House. He never even voted before that! He can hardly be claimed to be Mr. Republican (that was Taft!).

To be fair he was asked to run under the democrat ticket, but Ike said "No way."

BTW, I'd rather hear who David Eisenhower supports than who this liberal twit woman does. Every family has liberals and conservatives in it. Look at Ronald Reagan's kids. Two kook liberals and a staunch conservative. It's ridiculous for the MSM to think this is "newsworthy".
