In a heartbreaking Wall Street Journal article, the death of 24 as we knew and loved it has arrived in the form of a left-wing “reinvention” which is obviously determined to remove everything which made the series special: it’s unabashed patriotism and determination to protect that which is most worth protecting, America and Americans, at any cost.

He is kidnapped by the jihadists to build the Ironman weapon. He then escapes using this weapon, and protect the world with it. It looks like a cool movie. I hope.

I don't understand the hand-wringing in the article. (Well some of it I understand--the "going green" stuff is too much, I agree.)
But in the 24 trailer, Jack is unapologetic for torturing suspects and later, he's given the okay to torture a new suspect. "I'm gonna enjoy this!"
The new season did have some troubling ingredients, though: The female president and her "first gentleman" husband, Jeanine Garafalo as a federal agent (lol!) etc.
